"The Lovely Bones is a story that begins with an unimaginable loss, but at its core it’s ultimately a story about love, resilience, and connection. What drew me to this production is that the narrative goes against conventional realism, with Susie narrating in the space between life and death allowing her to observe, remember, and influence the world she has left behind. What I love most about this story is the profound sense of hope that is found in the midst of such an unthinkable tragedy.

This isn’t your standard play, it’s constantly jumping through time and place. My vision for this piece centred around wanting to immerse the audience and take them on both a physical and emotional journey. Combining powerful performances with heavy technical elements, enhancing how the show moves through time and reflects into memory. I wanted the movement and staging throughout, to further blur the boundaries between the living world and Susie’s “in-between”, so that we may really look at this story through Susie’s eyes. What I love about how this production has come together, is that one part really can’t work without the other. There are so many moving parts within this show, so many small details and choreographed moments, that all come together to help tell this powerful story.
