CONDOLEEZZA is a theatre director with a background in fashion design and a passion for creating immersive worlds on stage. Her practice is rooted in the belief that theatre can engage an audience through more than performance alone, bringing together unique staging, design, sound, lighting, to create experiences that feel both emotional and deeply atmospheric.

With extensive experience in amateur theatre, CONDOLEEZZA has developed a collaborative and highly visual approach to directing, from her directorial debut with Little Women to her collaborative showcase, Love Alters Not, and her most recent production of The Lovely Bones.

Her background in fashion design has shaped the way she approaches her stage work. It's given her a strong understanding of texture, colour, composition and the relationship between character, costume and environment. She is particularly interested in how the language of filmmaking can be translated into live performance, exploring how cinematic techniques and technical design could be used to enhance atmosphere and emotion while retaining the immediacy and unpredictability of live theatre.

 

As a director, CONDOLEEZZA sees herself as the holder of a production's vision, while empowering each creative department and collaborator to contribute to it. Her ambition is to create theatre that invites audiences to really feel a story rather than simply watch it.
